CURRÍCULUM

Rui Miguel Silva holds a Ph.D. in Education, Health, and Sports from the University of Vigo, Pontevedra. He is currently a Professor and Scientific Researcher at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC). His teaching expertise includes sports training theory, methodology, assessment, monitoring, and prescription, as well as fitness, exercise, and sports physiology.

His research focuses on the assessment and monitoring of training in both team and individual sports for young and adult high-performance athletes, alongside studies on motor competence and cognitive health. He has authored over 70 scientific articles published in JCR-indexed journals with impact factors and has written several books on sports training methodology, assessment, and monitoring.

His practical experience includes expertise in swimming and football (soccer), with a focus on training methodology, assessment, and monitoring. In professional football, he has developed skills in physical rehabilitation, return-to-competition processes, and GPS data analysis. He also holds a UEFA B Football Coach (Level 2) license from the Portuguese Football Federation.
